Cookies and Cream Trifle

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS:

1 pack of oreos or cookies and creme type cookies (about ~30 cookies)

3 cups whipped cream

1 box of instant chocolate pudding mix

1 3/4 cups cold whole milk

dark chocolate bar for shaving

1/2 tsp flaky salt (I prefer Maldon Sea Salt)

Veggie Peeler

Instructions

  1. Start with making the pudding per the package’s instructions. However, instead of 2 cups of milk, use 1 3/4 cups milk. That makes it a little thicker than regular pudding. (If the package says something different than 2 cups, just use the rule of use 1/4 cup less.)

  2. Take your cookies, place them in a baggy, seal baggy and whack it with a rolling pin. Lol I do that for about 30 seconds, until the cookies are crushed to about the size of kidney beans. (You’ll have pieces smaller than that and that’s ok! Variation is good.)

  3. Grab a veggie peeler and the dark chocolate bar and shave pieces off of the bar. This is for topping the trifle!

  4. Now you assemble! You can do this in a trifle dish, or in single serving dishes for each of your guests. Put down a thin layer of pudding, then sprinkle a layer of cookies, then a thin layer of whipped cream. I like doing lots of thin layers to give a more interesting look. You can also just do one big layer of pudding, big layer of cookies and a big layer of whipped cream. Lastly, top your trifle with your shaved chocolate and flaky salt. (Don’t skip out on the flaky salt!!)
